Main Street becomes Candy Cane Lane
Each holiday season, downtown Visalia's Main Street takes the name Candy Cane Lane. The Candy Cane Lane Parade, put on by Downtown Visalians, is held the Monday after Thanksgiving. It reached its 78th year in 2024 and draws more than 10,000 people. That date is earlier than most December events, so plan your activation date around it.
Downtown buildings and review
Some downtown buildings are on the Local Register or inside the Historic District. Check with the City of Visalia before adding exterior fixtures to those buildings. For everyone else, the usual approvals apply: the landlord, the property manager or the owner.
