What a holiday install covers

A professional holiday install has four parts. Here’s what each means, and what to confirm before you book with anyone.

  1. 1DesignA plan for your roofline, peaks and entry: which lines get lit, which colors, and how it all looks from the street.
  2. 2InstallationThe lights go up safely, attached with clips made for your roof edge or gutters, with power and timers set.
  3. 3In-season fixesWhat happens if a section goes dark in mid-December, and whether a service call costs extra.
  4. 4Take-downWhen the lights come down after the season, and where they go afterward.

Our written quote states exactly which of these are included for your home. No guessing.

Designing your display

From Sanger, the Nation’s Christmas Tree City, to cul-de-sacs in Clovis, the Valley takes its holiday lights seriously. A good design starts with the house: the shape of the roofline, the peaks, the entry and what neighbors see from the street.

  • Classic warm white for a clean, traditional look.
  • Multicolor for the nostalgic, fun-on-the-block look.
  • Roofline only, or more. Want trees, shrubs or a walkway lit too? Ask when you request your quote.

What to ask any installer

Seasonal services vary a lot from company to company. These questions keep the price you’re comparing apples to apples:

  • Who supplies the lights, and who keeps them? Some installers provide the lights, some sell them to you, some hang yours.
  • Is in-season service included? If a strand fails, who fixes it, and is there a charge?
  • Is take-down included, and when does it happen?
  • What happens to the lights after the season? Stored for you, or handed back to you?
  • How are the lights attached? Clips made for your roof edge or gutters avoid nail and staple holes.
  • How is power handled? Look for outdoor-rated cords, GFCI-protected outlets and timers.
  • What workmanship guarantee comes with the install?

When to book

Install calendars fill up as the season gets closer. Booking earlier gets you more choice of install dates and more time to get the design right. Later requests depend on what’s still open.

Homes and rooflines we light

Single-story ranch homes, two-story builds, concrete tile roofs and homes with gutters each need a different clip and a different plan. Two-story homes take more equipment and care, which is one reason quotes vary by house.

Here’s more on attaching lights to tile roofs, stucco and gutters. In an HOA neighborhood, check your rules for holiday lighting before install.

Start seasonal, go permanent later

A seasonal install costs less up front, but you pay for the hanging every year. Permanent lighting costs more once, then there’s no yearly hanging fee, and the lights work every night of the year: warm white on a normal evening, any color for any holiday.

Over several seasons, the gap between the two narrows. For homeowners planning to stay put, permanent can come out ahead over time.

There’s no need to decide today. Start with a seasonal install this year. If you love it, we’ll quote year-round permanent Christmas lights for the same house.

Common questions

How much does Christmas light installation cost in Fresno?

It depends on how much roofline you want lit, the height of the house, the design and what’s included, such as take-down. We give you a written quote with the price and every inclusion listed, so you can compare it fairly with other offers.

Do you provide the lights, or can you use mine?

Your written quote states whether lights are supplied and who keeps them after the season. If you already own lights, mention it in your request and we’ll tell you whether they can be part of the plan.

Is take-down included?

Take-down and what happens to the lights afterward are spelled out in your quote. It’s one of the most important questions to ask any installer before you book.

When should I book Christmas light installation?

Earlier is better. Install calendars fill as the season approaches, and booking ahead gives you more choice of dates and time to get the design right. If it’s already late in the season, ask anyway and we’ll tell you what’s possible.

What if part of the display goes out during the season?

Ask any installer how in-season fixes are handled and whether there’s a charge. Your written quote from us states how in-season fixes work for your install.

Will clips damage my roof or gutters?

Professional installs use clips made for shingles, tile or gutters instead of nails or staples. We’ll show you how the lights attach to your home before install day.

Can I switch to permanent lights later?

Yes. Plenty of homeowners start with seasonal lights and go permanent later. We can quote a permanent roofline system for the same house whenever you’re ready.

Do you hang lights outside Fresno and Clovis?

Yes. We also serve Madera, Sanger, Selma, Kingsburg, Visalia and Hanford.
