Sand, Tree and Hill
Manhattan Beach is usually described by section. The Sand Section runs along the beach, with The Strand and the walk streets. The Tree Section and the Hill Section are inland. The 928-foot pier ends at the Roundhouse Aquarium. The city has a certified Local Coastal Program and issues its own coastal permits.
The holiday calendar
The season starts in November with the Pier Lighting and Holiday Open House. The downtown Holiday Fireworks Festival follows in mid-December.
