Inside Visalia's Historic District, the Historic Preservation Advisory Committee reviews exterior changes before permits are issued. Ask the city whether your roofline lighting plan needs to go before the committee, and allow time for it. Low-profile track along the existing fascia is usually the least visible option, and it leaves the trim, brackets and rafter details exposed.
