Downtown Madera and the Highway 41 corridor
Madera is the Madera County seat. Its 1900 courthouse, built of local granite, is now the Madera County Museum and has been on the National Register since 1971.
The Highway 41 corridor in southeast Madera County is where most new homes are going up. Riverstone, off Highway 41 and Avenue 12, is planned for about 6,578 homes. Tesoro Viejo is building a main-street-style Town Center. The Madera Ranchos is an unincorporated area along Highway 41 with larger lots.
Two very different jobs
A new tract home in Riverstone and a ranch house on acreage in the Ranchos need different plans. The first usually involves HOA design rules and a two-story roofline. The second usually means long single-story runs and sometimes a detached shop or garage with its own power.
