Working within the Swedish Village guidelines
Downtown, inside the triangle formed by Highway 99, 18th Avenue and Sierra Street, the city's Swedish Village Design Standards and Guidelines shape how buildings look. Before adding exterior fixtures, check with the City of Kingsburg's planning staff. We'll plan the layout to follow the trim, beams and window lines that the guidelines encourage, so it doesn't cut across them.
Festival weekends and December nights
The Swedish Festival in May and the December events bring the most people downtown. Those are the Chamber's tree lighting and a Festival of Lights parade led by Santa Lucia. With a permanent system, you can set a different look for each one ahead of time.
