Old Town and the newer neighborhoods
Clovis calls itself the "Gateway to the Sierras," and a neon sign over Clovis Avenue in Old Town says so. The Clovis Rodeo has run since 1914. Newer buildings along Clovis Avenue are built with early-1900s-style storefronts, and the restored 1890s railroad depot stands at Clovis Avenue and Fourth Street.
Southeast Clovis is mostly newer construction. Loma Vista is a city-planned area of about 3,300 acres. Harlan Ranch is a master-planned community run by an HOA.
HOAs and exterior guidelines
Not every Clovis neighborhood has an HOA. Some Loma Vista tracts don't, and Harlan Ranch does. If yours does, check its architectural rules before you install anything. A track system that blends into the fascia by day is usually easier to get approved than strings and clips.
