Accent lighting that lives on your roofline
Most people buy permanent lights for the holidays. Then they run warm white most nights of the year. Accent lighting traces the lines of the roof, picks out the peaks and lights the entry, so the house looks finished after dark instead of disappearing into it.
Because the lights live along the eaves, there’s nothing new in the yard to trip over, aim or replace.
Warm-white architectural looks
- Full outline. The whole roofline in soft warm white.
- Peaks and gables. Highlight the shape of the house and leave the rest dark.
- Brighter where it counts. More light at the entry and garage, less elsewhere, depending on how the zones are laid out.
- Late-night dim. Drop the brightness after a set hour so it stays easy on the neighbors.
Both systems we install can shift from a candle-warm tone to a crisp white. We’ll set a few looks with you at install so you’re not starting from scratch.
Everyday security and visibility
A well-lit home is easier to come home to and harder to approach unseen. Bright white along the eaves puts light around the whole house at once: the driveway, the front door and the side yards.
- Dusk schedules. Lights come on at dusk and go off at a set time or at dawn.
- Sunset timing. Many lighting apps can follow local sunset, so the schedule shifts with the seasons. We’ll show you what your system offers.
- Bright white on demand. Tap once to go from accent glow to full brightness.
- Away from home. Turn lights on or change schedules from your phone while you’re traveling.
- Voice control. JellyFish and Govee each list support for popular voice assistants.
How it pairs with your permanent roofline
Accent and security lighting isn’t a separate set of fixtures here. It’s a way of using a permanent roofline system. If you get roofline lights for the holidays, you also get accent and security light: they’re just scenes and schedules in the same app.

Motion sensors, landscape lights and cameras: ask us
Thinking about motion-activated floodlights, path or landscape lighting, patio lights or cameras? Ask us. Mention it in your quote request and we’ll tell you plainly what we can take on.
Power and running cost
The system runs through a controller that plugs into an exterior outlet, ideally a GFCI-protected one with a weather cover. If your home needs a new outlet or circuit, that’s work for a licensed electrician.
Running warm white every night is the most common use, and LEDs keep the draw low. The real cost depends on brightness, hours and your rate. Here’s what nightly lighting adds to a PG&E bill. For install cost, see the factors behind every quote.

Common questions
Can permanent lights be used every day, not just on holidays?
Yes. That’s how most owners use them. A soft warm white on a dusk schedule is the everyday setting, and holiday colors are a tap away when the season comes.
Are roofline lights bright enough for security?
At full brightness in white, they add even light around the whole house from the eaves. That helps with visibility at the driveway, entry and side yards. For a very dark back corner, a dedicated light may still make sense, so ask us about your yard.
Can the lights turn on automatically at sunset?
You can schedule them to come on at dusk and go off at a set time or at dawn. Many lighting apps can follow local sunset so the schedule adjusts with the seasons. We set up your schedules with you at install.
Will my neighbors or HOA mind?
Warm white at a moderate brightness reads as architectural lighting, not a light show, and you can dim it after a set hour. HOA rules vary, so check your guidelines before install. We can give you product details for an application.
Do you install motion-sensor lights, landscape lighting or cameras?
Ask us. Mention what you have in mind in your quote request and we’ll tell you plainly what we can take on.
What does it cost to run the lights every night?
LED roofline lights draw little power. Your actual cost depends on how many feet you light, the brightness, the hours and your PG&E rate. Our electricity cost guide shows how to estimate it.
Can I control the lights when I’m away?
Yes. The system runs from an app on your phone, so you can turn lights on, switch to bright white or change schedules from anywhere with a connection.
